Mock-Up: Vintage Air Front Runner (September 24, 2012)
Today I put the Vintage Air Front Runner on the engine. No need for a lot of comment...pretty self explanatory and the directions were excellent. Quality of Vintage Air is outstanding!
Dash Modifications, Part 3 (September 23, 2012)
Today I installed the remaining 2 A/C vents in the dash.
I used an air saw to cut these. If you don't have one, you need one. Awesome tool!
After the vents were in, I had to relocate the Super Sport emblem on the dash.
I'll weld up the old holes when I finish the dash prep.
Today I also put a coat of paint on the tranny tunnel. I used a can of Eastwood's rust encapsulator. This is a really nice epoxy paint.
Dash Modifications, Part 2 (September 20 - 22, 2012)
Today I fabricated a mount for the Vintage Air climate control. This is the VHX series climate control that matches the instrument cluster.
I want to recess this into the dash. I started by slicing a piece of 1" x 1 3/4" tubing lengthwise.
If you look closely, you can see where I have the rounded outside edges marked.
I used some of the scraps to form up the round ends. Like the fancy tool?
Now all that's left is to cut the holes for the 2 inner Clayton Machine Works A/C vents. There will be one of each side of the HVAC control.
