Mock-Up - Wheels & Tires (July 21, 2012)

Today our tires came in so we had them mounted and balanced on the wheels.  

Vintage Wheel Works V-40's:
18" x 9-1/2" (5" backspace) - front
18" x 11" (5-1/2" backspace) - rear

Falken Azenis AT615K Tires:
265/35R18 - front
315/30R18 - rear

She's a roller now!

Built these blocks, inspired by DSE's project pics.

A full 15" above the floor...lots of room to work now!

The Engine Has Arrived! (July 20, 2012)

Today we received the engine!!!  GMPP LS3 480.  This is the 430 hp production Corvette engine with a hot cam.

Mock Up - Front End, Day 2 (July 19, 2012)

Today we installed the downbars on the front end.  DSE quality is second to none.  This stuff is awesome!!!  Dig the "Made In America" sticker.

Mock-Up - Front End, Day 1 (July 18, 2012)

Today we started the front end mock-up.

Time for brakes - these are C6 Z51 brakes as well.

Mock-Up - Rear Suspension, Day 3 (July 17, 2012)

Today I took off the right side brakes that I put on yesterday, cut down the studs on both axles and put on the brakes on both sides.

I started with the caliper being mounted towards the front, but...

Internal Parking Brake

Once I went to mount the parking brake cable bracket, I discovered that the caliper had to be mounted toward the rear in order for the parking brake cable to pull towards the front.
