Bodywork on Firewall (March 23 - 29, 2013)
This post covers the bodywork on the firewall area. The metal work came out pretty smooth but there were some areas that needed just a skim coat of filler to be ready for paint.
Smiley face...she must be happy ! LOL
Filler work complete, ready for primer filler.
I like to use Z-Chrome. It is self etching so it can be applied to bare metal if necessary. It builds nicely and lays out well. I applied this with a primer gun.
First coat sanded with 180 to get everything "flat."
2nd coat of Z-chrome. I thinned this coat a bit to lay down smoother. Didn't need a lot of build for this coat, basically just filling sanding scratches.
More sanding.....
Final sanding with 400 grit.
Ready for paint.
