Today we attempted yet another test fit of the engine & tranny in order to figure out a transmission crossmember. This time we put the engine in first, then put the transmission in from under the car. There is simply not enough room between the frame crossmember and the firewall to angle the engine and transmission in together.
I had to build a platform since the car is sitting on the 15 1/2" blocks. The floor jack wouldn't extend high enough. A transmission jack is in our future. This sucker's heavy!
Clearance is tight but adequate. This is the tightest spot.
