Final Assembly - Dakota VHX Instrument Cluster (September 7, 2013)
This covers the final install of the Dakota VHX instrument cluster.
The driver's side a/c ducting needed to be installed first as it runs behind the instrument cluster. The Dakota climate control system has various air temp sensors. One of these goes into each outboard duct. I located this just behind the cluster and routed the sensor lead along the duct to the evaporator which is where I will locate the control module.
Duct hose and sensor complete.
Onto the cluster. Very simple, just one cat 5 cable from the control module to the cluster.
The cluster goes in just like the OEM unit.
Cool! Looks like it belongs there yet looks contemporary.
